Apple launched its latest generation of the iPad mini, featuring enhanced AI capabilities, including advanced writing tools and an upgraded Siri assistant. This move comes as the tech giant accelerates the integration of artificial intelligence into its devices.

The A17 Pro offers a significant performance upgrade, making it ideal for even the most demanding tasks. It features a quicker CPU and GPU, along with a Neural Engine that operates twice as fast as that of the previous iPad mini. Additionally, it incorporates support for Apple Intelligence. With the introduction of Apple Pencil Pro, the new iPad mini enhances versatility and creativity, enabling users to explore innovative ways to boost productivity. The 12MP wide rear camera is equipped with Smart HDR 4, delivering natural-looking images with improved dynamic range, and utilizes machine learning to identify and scan documents directly within the Camera app.

The initial set of Apple Intelligence features will launch this month in U.S. English with the free software update to iPadOS 18.1 with AI features. These features will be available for iPads equipped with the A17 Pro chip or M1 and later models. Apple Intelligence aims to provide delightful, intuitive, and user-friendly experiences.

Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing said, “There is no other device in the world like iPad mini, beloved for its combination of powerful performance and versatility in our most ultraportable design. iPad mini appeals to a wide range of users and has been built for Apple Intelligence, delivering intelligent new features that are powerful, personal, and private. With the powerful A17 Pro chip, faster connectivity, and support for Apple Pencil Pro, the new iPad mini delivers the full iPad experience in our most portable design at an incredible value.”
