Technology-enabled healthcare provider Aeroflow Health has finalised the acquisition of digital health firm Canopie, Inc. The corporate transaction aims to merge clinical medical supplies with preventative maternal mental health services. This acquisition consolidates a commercial relationship dating back to 2022 when Aeroflow executed an initial investment in the digital wellness startup.
The merger addresses significant systemic shortfalls within the American healthcare landscape. Medical data shows that over one third of U.S. counties qualify as maternity care deserts, leaving more than 5.5 million women with limited regional services. Additionally, specialised perinatal care remains difficult to obtain, as nearly 60 per cent of women with maternal mental health issues never receive an official diagnosis. Clinical studies tracking over 2 million patient records indicate that these unaddressed mental health conditions increase the danger of preterm birth by 50 per cent.
Through its core branch Aeroflow Breastpumps, the buying company currently provides lactation supplies, feeding assistance and perinatal schooling to 1.7 million expecting mothers annually. Canopie specialises in delivering remote, evidence-based preventative care plans focused on psychological well-being. The combined company plans to offer virtual prenatal packages to bypass geographic and financial barriers, backed by continuous asynchronous digital support channels.
The unified medical entity intends to scale its commercial operations by expanding contracts with managed care health plans and state government agencies. The combined commercial model focuses on delivering clear cost savings alongside measurable enhancements in patient recovery statistics.
“Supporting mothers through every stage of pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond has always been our vision, not just through products, but through education, clinical services, and personalized care,” said Jennifer Jordan, EVP of Aeroflow Breastpumps. “The addition of Canopie is a natural extension of that vision, strengthening our ability to address one of the most critical and underserved aspects of maternal health: mental wellness. Together, we’re creating a more connected, comprehensive care experience that meets mothers where they are and supports them throughout their entire journey.”
“Aeroflow has been successful because we put patients first, and cultivated a culture of profit with purpose. This acquisition will help close the maternal care gap at scale,” noted Casey Hite, CEO of Aeroflow Health. “With Canopie, we can now bring even more comprehensive maternal care to the 1.7 million expecting and new mothers who come to Aeroflow every year.”
“From the beginning, my goal with Canopie was to bring accessible, evidence-based care to every new mother, regardless of where she lives or what she could pay for. Aeroflow has the scale and mission alignment to make this vision possible. I couldn’t ask for a better partner to carry this forward with,” added Anne Wanlund, Founder and CEO of Canopie.
