Sydney, Australia – Specialist food and agribusiness lender Rabobank Australia & New Zealand has appointed experienced banking executive Kathryn Marler as Group Executive and Chief Human Resources Officer.
In her new capacity, Marler assumes responsibility for the bank’s HR and Corporate Affairs functions across both Australia and New Zealand. She joins the regional executive team, reporting directly to Caroline Oosterbaan, Chief Executive Officer of Rabobank Australia and Regional Manager for Australia and New Zealand.
Marler arrives from Westpac Banking Corporation, where she held several senior positions directing enterprise-wide transformation programmes and shaping workforce strategy.
Welcoming the appointment, Caroline Oosterbaan stated:
“Kathryn’s blend of deep banking-sector expertise and large-scale transformation experience was central to her appointment. Operating within a global cooperative structure, Rabobank sought a leader able to continue to build a People and Culture strategy consistent with the Rabobank Group, while remaining genuinely responsive to the needs of the Australian and New Zealand business.”
Speaking on her appointment, Kathryn Marler said:
“Rabobank’s cooperative culture, and its deep, long-term commitment to Australian and New Zealand farmers and food producers, is something I’ve long admired. I’m looking forward to partnering with Caroline and the leadership team to build the workforce capability that will carry that mission forward.”
Marler is scheduled to step into the role on October 6, subject to standard regulatory approval.
