Aon has appointed Godelieve van Dooren as its new Chief Executive for Southeast Asia, bringing an experienced regional leader to the top role as the company continues to strengthen its presence across the region.

Van Dooren joins Aon from Marsh McLennan, where she served as Chief Executive for Southeast Asia. Based in Singapore for more than 15 years, she has built extensive experience across some of the region’s most important growth markets, including Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand.

Before taking on the regional leadership role at Marsh McLennan, van Dooren was Chief Executive of Mercer’s South East Asia Growth Markets and Career Business Leader for Asia. During her time at Mercer, she was responsible for driving growth while helping organisations address increasingly complex challenges across health, wealth and careers.

Her career in professional services began after completing a Master of Arts in Law at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. Although she did not pursue a career in law, she went on to build a senior career in human resources consulting and professional services, including an early role as a senior HR consultant with Ernst & Young.

Van Dooren also brings a strong focus on leadership, inclusion and organisational change. Speaking at Reuters NEXT Asia 2026, she highlighted the importance of helping organisations navigate uncertainty by developing different scenarios, recognising connections and creating greater clarity for employees during periods of change.

She has also been an advocate for more intentional leadership and inclusive workplace cultures, with a particular focus on practical approaches to diversity, equity and inclusion. Her work has included discussions around the mental load associated with unpaid care responsibilities and the importance of making inclusion part of everyday business decisions.

Her appointment gives Aon a senior executive with extensive experience across Southeast Asia and a track record of leading businesses through periods of growth and transformation.
