The Agribusiness e-Academy has launched a fresh call for applications for its newly introduced GrowHer Agribusiness Accelerator Program. The eight-week training scheme is designed to assist female agricultural workers and aspiring entrepreneurs to scale up their commercial farming operations.

Run under the umbrella of the Agri-Business Facility for Africa (ABF) Project, the initiative uses a blended learning structure. It aims to increase female leadership within the sector by mixing online coursework, technical mentoring and professional skills training. Organisers note that women remain central to global food supply chains but frequently encounter structural hurdles that keep their operations limited to small-scale subsistence farming.

The curriculum focuses heavily on preparing businesses for larger commercial markets. Registered students will take courses through the Agribusiness e-Academy, covering specific topics such as Agriculture as a Business, Climate-Smart Agriculture, Good Agricultural Practices and the Business Model Canvas. The training also integrates specialised tracking modules regarding international trade, including exporting to the European Union and meeting EUDR compliance standards.

Beyond independent digital modules, the program requires participants to attend two live virtual sessions each week. These interactive workshops link attendees directly with industry specialists to translate textbook concepts into local farm management plans.

Applications are open to women living across the OACP regions, which covers Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific. Candidates must be actively running a farm, operating within the wider agrifood processing chain or planning to launch a new agricultural startup.

The entire program is free to access and will be run online. Along with business management skills, successful graduates will receive official academy certificates and access to a regional peer network. The scheme also includes competitive opportunities to secure professional internships with corporate agribusiness partners.

The final deadline for digital submissions is 30 June 2026. Interested candidates must apply directly via the official online portal hosted by the German development agency GIZ.
