Xiaomi India confirmed the launch of its new women entrepreneurship programme, JeevikaSaathi+, on 29 April 2026. The initiative targets more than 1,000 women living in Udaipur and Jaipur. It aims to improve livelihoods through a combination of digital learning, skill development and direct enterprise support. The scheme is being delivered in partnership with the non-profit organisation BharatCares.
The programme structure includes onboarding 750 women into the system. Out of these, 500 will undergo training in financial literacy, digital skills and business management. A further 250 women who already lead small businesses will receive asset-based assistance. This support is intended to help them move from informal or early-stage ideas to stable companies in sectors like tailoring, retail and food services.
Mentorship and market access are central to the project. Participants will be connected to the MSME Udyam Sakhi portal and NITI Aayog’s Women Entrepreneurship Platform. The organisers stated that the programme will assist with banking, government registrations and e-commerce onboarding to help lower the barriers for new startups.
Mr. Varun Madan, Chief People Officer & Head of Integrated Management, Xiaomi India, said: “At Xiaomi, we believe access creates opportunity. JeevikaSaathi+ is about bridging that access gap for women through skills, digital tools, and market linkages so they can build and scale their own businesses. Through this initiative, we aim to help women move from early ideas or informal set-ups to stable, income-generating enterprises. Our goal is to enable sustainable income generation, strengthen grassroots entrepreneurship, and drive more inclusive growth in the communities we serve.”
The official launch in Udaipur was attended by Member of Parliament Mannalal Rawat and ASP Chetna Bhati. The event highlighted how the programme could potentially lead to a two or threefold increase in income for those involved. By aligning on-ground training with digital modules, the initiative hopes to build economic resilience at a grassroots level in Rajasthan, India.
Bhomik Shah, Trustee, BharatCares, said: “At BharatCares, we see entrepreneurship as a powerful pathway to dignity, agency, and long-term economic resilience for women at the grassroots. We are honoured to give this cause another form through Xiaomi India’s JeevikaSaathi+ program. Our collective mission is to enable women not just with skills, but with the confidence, networks, and market access required to build sustainable enterprises.”
