Applications have opened for the She Code Africa Academy Program 2026: a three-month virtual training initiative aimed at equipping young Nigerian women with practical technology skills while addressing the gender gap in the sector.
Run by She Code Africa and sponsored by HP, the programme combines structured learning, mentorship, certification opportunities and career guidance to help participants prepare for roles within Nigeria’s fast-growing tech ecosystem.
Designed as an intensive online training experience, the Academy blends hands-on coursework with mentorship from industry professionals and dedicated employability sessions. The initiative supports She Code Africa’s wider mission to widen female participation in technology by making specialist training more accessible.
Women selected for the 2026 cohort will be able to choose from three specialist tracks aligned to market demand:
- Cybersecurity, with a focus on digital security, risk management and cyber defence basics
- Data Science, exploring data analysis, insight generation and data-led decision-making
- DevOps Engineering, centred on automation, deployment pipelines and system reliability
Each pathway is structured to build practical, job-ready skills that employers are actively seeking.
To be eligible, applicants must be female Nigerian citizens aged between 20 and 35, interested in beginning or advancing a career in technology, and available to participate fully in the virtual programme. They must also have reliable internet access and a suitable learning environment. No formal academic degree is required, and both beginners and intermediate learners are invited to apply, provided they can demonstrate commitment.
Participants accepted into the Academy will gain access to hands-on training, a structured curriculum, mentorship, career development workshops, certification upon completion, and continued community support, positioning graduates for opportunities in Nigeria’s digital economy.
