Fidelity Bank Plc has launched a new initiative, “She Leads,” aimed at empowering young girls across Nigeria in celebration of the 2025 International Day of the Girl Child.
According to a statement from the bank’s media unit, the flagship programme is designed to give secondary school girls a platform to display leadership, creativity, and self-confidence through mentorship sessions, debates, essay competitions, and healthcare-focused activities.
The initiative forms part of the bank’s wider efforts to promote female-focused engagements as a way to build more inclusive and resilient communities across the country.
Speaking about the launch, Mr. Osita Ede, Divisional Head, Product Development at Fidelity Bank Plc, said that empowering girls and women with the right tools and opportunities was key to societal advancement.
“The ‘She Leads’ initiative is one of the many ways we are nurturing the leaders of tomorrow by giving them a voice today.
“This is going to be one of our most impactful investments in nation building.
“By providing young girls across Nigeria with the skills, knowledge and confidence to lead, we are paving the way for a more inclusive and sustainable future,” he said.
The bank has invited schools across the country to nominate exceptional female students for participation, with entries open until October 14. Selected candidates will gain access to mentorship, recognition, and personal development opportunities.
Fidelity Bank noted that the She Leads initiative aligns with the global movement for gender equality and women’s empowerment.
