Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has expanded its line of locally produced servers in Saudi Arabia with the launch of two new HPE ProLiant models powered by 5th Gen AMD EPYC™ processors. The announcement was made at alfanar’s production plant in Riyadh, where the companies marked the rollout of the first AMD CPU-powered server to be built on the new assembly line.

The new additions, the HPE ProLiant DL365 and DL385 Gen11 servers, form part of the ‘Saudi Made’ initiative. Carrying the official ‘Saudi Tech’ mark, the servers are designed to deliver enhanced performance and data security while offering speed and flexibility for advanced workloads such as analytics and real-time data processing.

The servers are already available in Saudi Arabia and across neighbouring markets including Jordan, Egypt, and the Gulf states. HPE said the expansion reflects its commitment to support the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 programme, which aims to build a competitive, data-driven economy.

“We’re delighted to celebrate this major milestone together with our partners AMD and alfanar as we further expand our portfolio of ‘Saudi Made’ servers,” said Mohammad Alrehaili, managing director for Middle East, HPE. “We’ve seen an unprecedented demand for robust digital infrastructure and compute capabilities in the Middle East, driven by key strategic investments and frameworks such as Saudi Vision 2030 and technological advancements like AI. This new server offering, leveraging the latest AMD EPYC processors, directly addresses this demand, delivering predictable high performance at scale while helping ensure rock-solid data security at every level.”

The release of the two new models follows on from HPE’s first locally produced servers introduced last year, which secured the National Product Certificate. With the addition of the DL365 and DL385 Gen11 systems, customers in the region will now have broader options with scalable and efficient compute capacity built on both 4th and 5th Gen AMD EPYC™ processors.

According to the company, the updated CPU designs deliver higher core counts, faster frequencies, and larger memory capacity to improve data-intensive workloads, alongside flexible storage options to support rising digital demand.

Zaid Ghattas, general manager for the Middle East, Türkiye and Africa at AMD, said the collaboration would help align with Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation agenda. “AMD EPYC CPUs provide the energy efficiency and performance leadership required to help power the infrastructure that will support Saudi Arabia’s comprehensive digital growth strategy,” said Zaid Ghattas, general manager, Middle East, Türkiye and Africa, AMD. “AMD is proud to work with HPE on this initiative and committed to serving our customers in Saudi Arabia as well as the broader Middle East region.”

In addition to product expansion, HPE and AMD confirmed new training programmes aimed at developing the skills of the Saudi workforce. These will place particular emphasis on supporting women in technology roles, as the majority of employees at the production facility are female.

“We are proud to support this expansion of the HPE ‘Saudi Made’ server portfolio, further strengthening not only our own production capabilities, but also our joint contributions to the growing tech ecosystem within the Kingdom,” said Markus Grabmeier, vice president, alfanar Electric.  “This milestone reflects our continued commitment to advancing technological expertise and fostering female talent in the Kingdom.”
