Prudential has appointed Chan San San as the incoming chief executive officer (CEO) for Singapore, pending regulatory approval. She is set to assume the CEO position starting September this year. In her new role, Chan will report directly to Dennis Tan, who serves as managing director of the strategic business group responsible for Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Dennis Tan said “I am delighted to welcome San San to Prudential. She brings extensive regional experience to the table, with a deep understanding of customers, paired with a breadth of consumer financial services experience in Singapore.”

Chan’s responsibilities will include managing Prudential Singapore’s distribution network, which supports over 5,200 financial representatives, including those at Prudential Financial Advisers Singapore. The insurer also has partnerships with United Overseas Bank and Standard Chartered Bank. Chan brings over two decades of experience from Citi, where she held roles such as managing director and global market manager at Citi Private Bank. Her expertise focused on private banking for ultra-high and high-net-worth clients across Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.

Chan’s expertise spans strategy, sales, marketing, client management, product management, strategic innovation, transformation, governance, and risk management. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and earned a bachelor’s degree in accountancy with a minor in business law from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
