The United International Peace and Governance Council (UNIPGC) has appointed the former Liberian Vice President, Jewel Howard-Taylor, as its pioneer matron for the African chapter.
This week, a notable diplomatic event unfolded as a delegation from the United Nations International Peace & Governance Council visited H.E. Chief Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor, the former Vice President and First Lady of Liberia.
The delegation, led by H.E. Amb. Jonathan Ojada and including H.E. Amb. Adeniran Michael Timothy and Amb. Dipo Gbenero, convened at Howard-Taylor’s residence in Monrovia to honor her recent appointment as the African Patron of the UN International Peace & Governance Council.
Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor, who served as Liberia’s Vice President from 2018 to 2023, left a significant mark through her impactful contributions in various fields. As the first female Vice President of Liberia and a key political leader, she is recognized for her advocacy for women’s empowerment and leadership throughout Liberia and Africa.
