The Texas Women’s Empowerment Foundation (TWEF) successfully hosted its 20th International Women’s Leadership Summit in May at Hotel ZaZa in the Museum District. The sold-out event was co-chaired by founder Deavra Daughtry and philanthropist Reggie Van Lee and featured special guest Tyra Banks. The event raised over $300,000 for the TWEF Eagle Scholar Program, providing scholarships to deserving students.
With over 600 attendees, the summit witnessed many inspiring workshops, networking opportunities, and special events. The event also hosted a VIP hosting program named “Men Who Empower Her”. It was a VIP Business Soiree sponsored by Harvard University alumni and interactive sessions with global entrepreneurs and business executives.
The event’s success is attributed to the invaluable support from its Title Sponsor, Enterprise Holdings LLC, and its Supporting Sponsors, including Fujita Group, Charles Schwab Bank, Farouk Systems, Rice University, Comerica Bank, United Airlines, Radio One, LIPF, Signet World, L.L. Academy, BDO USA, Mattress Firm, and Fox26. Their dedication to empowering future leaders played a pivotal role in ensuring the Summit’s success.
The event featured a luncheon emceed by Fox Houston’s Caroline Collins. During this time, Daughtry awarded Banks the 2024 International Leadership Award and presented Rhiza Pascua with the 2024 International Business Leadership Award. As the event ended, Daughtry surprised TWEF Eagle Scholar Emarion Miller with a $10,000 scholarship, demonstrating the profound impact this Summit has on young leaders.
Contributions raised from the summit will benefit every TWEF Eagle Scholar. Since its debut, the program has awarded more than $400k to college-bound students.
TWEF is a non-profit organization that strives to help families from all walks of life with personal development, business, education, finances, and socio-economic development.
