Saipem has announced the award of two new offshore contracts in Saudi Arabia worth $600 million, signed under its existing Long-Term Agreement with Saudi Aramco. The company described the awards as Contract Release Purchase Orders (CRPO).

The first package, CRPO 162, will run for 32 months and covers the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) of around 34 km of pipeline with diameters of 20” and 30”, along with work on topside facilities at the Berri and Abu Safah oil fields.

The second award, CRPO 165, involves subsea activities at the Marjan field, in addition to EPCI works on 300 m of onshore pipeline and tie-ins over a 12-month period, Saipem said.

For the marine scope, Saipem plans to deploy its construction vessels already active in the region. Fabrication connected to the projects will take place at Saipem Taqa Al-Rushaid Fabricators Co. Ltd. in Dammam, supporting the development of local industrial capacity.

The company said the latest wins expand its work pipeline in the kingdom and “further consolidates its longstanding relationship with Aramco.”
