Nokia has announced the departure of Lorna Gibb, the company’s Chief People Officer, who has stepped down effective immediately to pursue a new opportunity. A global search for her successor has commenced, while Esa Niinimäki, Nokia’s Chief Legal Officer, will assume her responsibilities in the interim.

Gibb joined Nokia in 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and was appointed Chief People Officer in June 2024. Over her four-year tenure, she played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s global people strategy, strengthening talent and leadership development programs, and driving organizational and cultural transformation initiatives aligned with Nokia’s growth objectives.

Based in London, Lorna brought with her over two decades of international experience across the technology, aviation, digital, and financial services sectors. Prior to Nokia, she held senior human resources and transformation roles at industry leaders such as Skyscanner, easyJet, and Direct Line Group.

Known for her ability to lead large-scale organizational change, Lorna has earned recognition as a strategic people leader who transforms complex HR challenges into opportunities for business growth. Her tenure at Nokia was marked by a strong commitment to cultivating a high-performance, inclusive culture that supports the company’s long-term vision.
