Kerri Hayman has been named the first female CEO of Domino’s Pizza’s ANZ division. Hayman, who has served as the company’s COO for the ANZ region since October 2023, will succeed David Burness, the former CEO of the division.

Kerri Hayman said on LinkedIn, “Having grown up in the business here in Australia from a young age, it is such an honour to be stepping into the CEO role. We have so many passionate Franchise partners and team members in ANZ and I feel honoured to work alongside each and every one.”

Hayman started her career in the industry as a pizza maker in the late 1980s while working under her brother Donald Meij, who was then a store manager and later became the Group CEO and MD of Domino’s Pizza Enterprises. Hayman eventually took on the role of operations director for the UK-listed Domino’s Pizza Group and managed 14 Domino’s Pizza franchises in the US.

Hayman said, “When I returned to Australia, I was coming home in more ways than one; I grew up in this business and worked alongside so many team members who are now some of our most successful and longest-serving franchise partners. My experience as a team member, in operations, and as multi-store owner, has fostered enormous empathy for the rewards and challenges that are an essential part of this business. I believe it has also helped me build credibility with our franchise partners, store managers and team members and now, in this more public facing role, I hope to build that same rapport with our customers, and our shareholders.”

She added, “Over the past year our customers have told us our product quality and service has never been better. But our team never rests and – with the new products we will be launching combined with an ongoing focus on product quality and value – I can’t wait to show what we can deliver.”

Domino’s Chairman Jack Cowin expressed strong confidence in the company’s leadership for the future. He remarked, “With Kerri’s appointment, [she is] the best person for the job.” He added, “The Board of Directors are thrilled that Domino’s provides an unrivalled opportunity to help team members grow and prosper, whether it’s a part time job, as an award-winning franchise partner, an executive – or all three.”

As COO, Hayman initiated the Women in Domino’s grant, designed to support seven emerging female store managers in becoming franchise partners. The program is set to grow, offering additional opportunities for female store managers to develop entrepreneurial skills.
