The inaugural edition of Mary Prince Women’s Entrepreneurial and Leadership Conference was held over 2 days and concluded with “resounding success, inspiring and empowering Bermuda’s women entrepreneurs and business leaders.”
A Government spokesperson said, “The conference was led by world-renowned African entrepreneur, global culture shaper, and philanthropist Ibukun Awosika, who engaged the women with an array of enlightening sessions and activities designed to foster leadership and entrepreneurial skills.
“The first day of the conference focused on women and leadership. Attendees were treated to an in-depth masterclass that explored the core principles of ethical leadership, strategic growth, and impactful decision-making. Through these sessions, participants gained invaluable insights and practical strategies to enhance their leadership capabilities and drive meaningful change within their organisations and communities. The second day centred on entrepreneurship, providing a deep dive into the essentials of creating value, navigating business complexities, and fostering innovation. The masterclass equipped attendees with the tools needed to excel in the entrepreneurial landscape, emphasising the importance of resilience and creativity in building successful ventures. More than 60 people attended the highly anticipated public lecture held at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [B.U.E.I.] on Monday, June 10th, 2024. The event, masterfully MC’d by Patrina Paynter, opened with inspiring remarks from the Minister of Youth, Social Development, and Seniors, The Hon. Tinée Furbert.
Minister Tinée Furbert expressed her gratitude, stating, “After the 2024 Mary Prince Women’s Entrepreneurial and Leadership Conference, I am grateful to Madame Awosika for imparting her experience and wisdom to our business owners. I also commend the UN Women and the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation for their support to sponsor the event which undoubtedly has positively inspired and empowered our local entrepreneurs through engaging masterclasses. Women entrepreneurs have a right to be seen and heard as we build a brighter future for Bermuda.”
