Humax, a leading provider of total mobility platforms, has revealed its strategic entry into the global electric vehicle (EV) charging market. The company’s initiative begins with the introduction of its EV Home Charger range in Europe, leveraging its established experience and technical innovation in the Korean market.

Dubbed Humax ECORD, the EV Home Charger is a smart, next-generation charging solution tailored for effortless home use. With Humax’s intuitive mobile app, car owners gain flexibility in selecting scheduled charging times or manual options. The app also allows for monitoring charging conditions and software upgrades via Over-The-Air (OTA) updates.

In the UK market, customers can enjoy smart energy efficiencies, including random delay and off-peak charging as mandated by the UK Government. Additionally, Humax chargers offer solar charging and load balancing functionalities, utilizing home solar energy to power electric vehicles.

Humax aims to provide safe and convenient installation services through partnerships with skilled installers. Leveraging its brand recognition in Europe’s set-top box market, Humax UK will initially offer EV charging services through a dedicated website. Simultaneously, Humax Germany will penetrate the market through collaborations with local sales and distribution networks.

In addition to catering to the European EV Home Charger segment, Humax plans to venture into the EV Commercial Charger market on a pan-European scale, leveraging its extensive experience as a Charge Point Operator (CPO) in Korea.

Kim Nam-woo, head of overseas sales at Humax, said, “As the global electric vehicle charger installation market grows, Humax will use its own technology and global overseas sales network to build new business growth in the charger market, based on its recognition as the leading brand in the global STB market.”
