Honeywell has confirmed that Indra Nooyi, the former Chair and Chief Executive Officer of PepsiCo, will join its Board of Directors as an Independent Director from 1 January 2026. The appointment adds one of the most recognisable figures in global corporate leadership to the company’s governance team.
Nooyi, 70, led PepsiCo as Chief Executive Officer between 2006 and 2018 and served as Chair of the board from 2007 to 2019. Before taking on the top job, she spent five years as President and Chief Financial Officer, having already been a member of the company’s board. Across her tenure, she became known as the driving force behind “Performance with Purpose,” PepsiCo’s long-term initiative centred on expanding healthier product lines, reducing environmental impact, and supporting communities linked to the business.
“We warmly welcome Indra to our Board of Directors. She brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record leading diverse, global businesses and accelerating long-term growth,” said Vimal Kapur, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Honeywell. “Her strategic insights, commitment to innovation and financial and operational expertise will complement the experience of our current board and help support continued value creation for our shareholders.”
Nooyi joined PepsiCo in 1994, initially holding roles across finance as well as corporate strategy and development. Earlier in her career, she held senior positions at ABB, Motorola and The Boston Consulting Group, giving her broad exposure across global industries.
She remains active across corporate governance, currently serving on Amazon’s board of directors, where she chairs the audit committee. She is also a member of the supervisory board of Philips and sits on its nominating and corporate governance committee.
Nooyi holds a bachelor’s degree from Madras Christian College, an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta, and a Master of Public and Private Management from the Yale School of Management.
