H.E.R (Helping Everywoman Rise) Banking, a customised financial solution for women in business, was introduced by First National Bank of Namibia (FNB) .
This project, which was started during Women’s Month, is a major step forward in the bank’s continuous dedication to inclusivity.
At the launch ceremony, Chief Executive of FNB Namibia Commercial, Sepo Haihambo noted, “Women are breaking barriers and building successful companies like never before. Globally, we are seeing the rise of female-founded businesses and as a result there is an increasing recognition that gender-balanced teams are more effective, more innovative and more productive.”
Even the most promising business ideas sometimes struggle to get off the ground due to adequate financial resources, which is why Haihambo lists access to financing as one of the biggest obstacles Namibian women face in the business world.
H.E.R Banking looks to tackle some of these issues by catering to the unique needs of women in business, through tailored financial products. “We understand the challenges women face in business and are committed to providing the resources, networks and support women need to succeed. We recognise that the fight for equality in business is ongoing, and we are determined to be part of the solution,” said Haihambo.
In addition to offering specialized business insurance to cover the particular risks faced by entrepreneurs, H.E.R Banking offers value propositions such as a dedicated women’s hub in the Small and Medium Enterprise digital call center, which offers financial protection and peace of mind in addition to specialized advice and support.
Additionally, it provides merchant services like a smart spender card and the speedy device, which are free to use for the first month. And it gives women entrepreneurs access to events and networking opportunities hosted by FNB and strategic partners, which are intended to connect them with important industry peers and resources.
