Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline & Group and flydubai, acknowledged this momentous occasion. In a statement on his X account, he expressed his admiration for the airline’s journey, stating, “Today, on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of flydubai, I would like to congratulate the team at flydubai on the success they have achieved since their inaugural flight to Beirut on 01 June 2009.”

Since its first flight to Beirut in June 2009, flydubai has continually expanded its network, now covering over 125 destinations across 58 countries. The airline boasts a modern fleet of 87 Boeing 737 aircraft, including 29 Next-Generation Boeing 737-800, 55 Boeing 737 MAX 8, and 3 Boeing 737 MAX 9. Over the past 15 years, flydubai has successfully opened more than 90 new routes, reflecting its commitment to growth and connectivity.
