The Equip Exposition is once again setting aside space and time to support women working in the green sector, with the return of its Women’s Leadership Reception. Now in its third year, the popular event gives female professionals in landscaping, outdoor living, and equipment industries a chance to meet, exchange ideas, and grow their professional networks.
This year’s Equip Expo is scheduled for 21–24 October 2025 at the Kentucky Exposition Center (KEC). The Women’s Leadership Reception will take place on Thursday, 23 October from 5:00pm to 6:00pm at the KEC. Just ahead of the reception, at 4:00pm, a special panel titled “Power Players: Women Shaping the Future of the Industry” will take place, bringing together notable women leaders to share their stories and experiences.
“Women are an important part of our almost 30,000 attendees and exhibitors who come to Equip, and we’re proud to offer the Women’s Reception and other networking opportunities to bring women leaders in the green industry together,” said Kris Kiser, President & CEO of the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI), which owns the award-winning show.
The reception is supported by industry sponsors including Belgard, Hunter Industries, and SiteOne.
The panel line-up features Sara Hey, President of Bob Clements International; Shelia Matthews, Chief People Officer at Wilson360; and Bre Schoultz, the content creator behind Chickanic. Together, they’ll be offering insight into their journeys and perspectives from within the landscaping and outdoor equipment industries.
Participation is open to all female attendees, whether they are exhibitors, landscapers, contractors, distributors, or dealers. However, those who wish to attend the reception must RSVP during their Equip registration. After the event, shuttle service will be available from the KEC to the Kentucky International Convention Center for the expo’s signature concert, which features Big & Rich with Gretchen Wilson, and is sponsored by Gravely.
With continued support and increasing engagement, the Equip Expo’s focus on empowering women in the green industry is becoming a staple of the annual event.
