Entreprenelle, one of Egypt’s leading women-focused entrepreneurship networks, has launched the first edition of “She Can – Food & Beverage (F&B)” in Cairo, held on 4 October under the patronage of the Ministry of Social Solidarity and the National Council for Women. The event drew more than 1,000 visitors and featured 47 speakers from across the sector.

The launch followed the strong success of the Food & Beverage Stage during the 10th edition of “She Can” in April 2025, which saw over 2,000 attendees and sales surpassing EGP 1.5 million at the Food Market in a single day. The market was organised in collaboration with Ms. Mai El-Sahhar, Founder of Food Platform Market, and highlighted the rapid growth and commercial potential of the industry. Building on that momentum, Entreprenelle decided to dedicate a separate event to the F&B sector, aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs, encouraging collaboration, and supporting innovation in a rapidly changing market.

Government officials were among those attending, including Dr. Manal Hanafi, Head of the Central Administration for Development and Economy; Dr. Nancy Abdel Aziz, Director of the Economic Empowerment Department at the Ministry of Social Solidarity; and Dr. Ohoud Wafi, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees and CEO of Hayah Karima Foundation, who spoke on behalf of the President of the National Council for Women. The event also brought together entrepreneurs, nutrition experts, chefs, content creators, and brand representatives, all with a shared focus on advancing women’s role in the F&B industry.

Speaking at the event, Rania Ayman, Founder and CEO of Entreprenelle, said the sector holds “immense promise and potential.” She pointed out that the company has completed 28 rounds of “The Food Project” programme, which has already supported over 500 women and men entrepreneurs in turning their F&B ventures into viable businesses. Ayman stressed that women’s economic empowerment is about more than successful enterprises, it has a wider social and economic impact.

The event’s agenda featured 11 panel discussions with F&B specialists, three workshops on developing small and medium-sized businesses, and a showcase of inspiring success stories from women who have built notable food brands. It also offered a space for attendees to directly engage with speakers, discuss challenges, and explore new opportunities in the market.

The event coincided with Breast Cancer Awareness Month and included dedicated sessions on early detection, physical and mental health, and awareness campaigns around breast cancer prevention.

Beauty & Beyond International (BBI) participated as a key partner, reflecting its continued commitment to women’s empowerment. Islam Metwally, Co-founder and Executive Director of BBI, delivered an opening address highlighting the company’s efforts to support women through innovative skincare and haircare solutions.

Entreprenelle’s launch of “SheCan – Food & Beverage” marks a significant milestone in Egypt’s entrepreneurship landscape, offering women in the F&B industry a dedicated space to network, learn, and grow while reinforcing the sector’s potential as a driver of economic and social change.
