MADAME Arabia has appointed Cynthia Kattar as its new Editor-in-Chief, marking a significant development for the regional edition of the long-standing European luxury and lifestyle title.

The publication, owned by Arabian Publishing Media, confirmed the appointment this week, highlighting Kattar’s 18 years of editorial experience across the Gulf and Levant. Her new role will see her guiding the magazine’s growth and shaping its voice in the regional media landscape.

Kattar moves into the position following her role as Head of Editorial at Hia Magazine, where she was a driving force behind the launch of the Hia Hub platform. During her career, she has become known for her editorial vision, brand collaborations and ability to connect with readers through features that span fashion, culture and luxury.

“Cynthia’s extensive experience and nuanced understanding of the women in the region make her an invaluable asset to the MADAME legacy,” said Asma Al Fahim, CEO of Arabian Publishing Media. “She combines cultural insight with editorial excellence, ensuring that the title continues to set the standard for high-end, relevant content.”

First established in 1952, MADAME has been a staple of the European fashion publishing world for more than 70 years. The Middle Eastern edition, MADAME Arabia, is built on the same ethos of elegance and intelligence while adapting its coverage to reflect the values and aspirations of women in the Arab world.

Kattar is expected to lead the brand into what the publisher described as “a bold new era” with a focus on expanding its influence across multiple platforms. Her appointment comes at a time when regional publications are increasingly expected to deliver not just print content but also digital, video, and live event experiences for their audiences.

Throughout her career, Kattar has produced interviews with international personalities, led coverage of major fashion weeks, and curated original content formats. She has also been responsible for organising panels and cultural events that link luxury brands with thought leadership.

Speaking on her new role, Kattar said: “It’s a true privilege to lead a title with such global heritage and regional promise.”  She added, “MADAME Arabia is a space where women’s stories, style, and substance can shine. I look forward to expanding its vision through bold content, inclusive narratives, and elevated storytelling.”

As Editor-in-Chief, Kattar will oversee MADAME Arabia’s editorial direction across its magazine, online channels, and other brand extensions, continuing the legacy of the European edition while tailoring content for regional readers.

Arabian Publishing Media described the appointment as a key milestone for the magazine as it works to establish itself as the “definitive voice for modern, empowered women” in the Middle East.

With a proven record of shaping editorial strategy and forging strong industry relationships, Kattar’s leadership is expected to further develop the magazine’s positioning within the luxury and lifestyle sector, reinforcing MADAME Arabia’s role in the regional publishing space.
