The Association of Women’s Business Centers has launched a new virtual accelerator programme aimed at helping veteran-owned businesses grow their online sales through TikTok. The eight-week initiative, known as the Veteran Business Accelerator Powered by TikTok, began on January 5, 2026, and is hosted on VeteranStartup.org.

Announced in Washington on January 26, the programme expands AWBC’s national e-commerce support for veteran entrepreneurs, with a specific focus on TikTok Shop. The platform has emerged as a major channel for product discovery and direct-to-consumer sales, and the accelerator is designed to help participating businesses strengthen their digital presence, increase revenue, and develop sustainable online sales strategies.

Following a competitive selection process, nine veteran-owned businesses from across the United States were chosen for the inaugural cohort. All selected companies are at least 51% veteran-owned and already selling online. The cohort includes MilTreats, SickFit, Custom Jacks, Azteca Greens LLC, Pretty n Slayed Hair, VETLIFE, K9 Salute, Mutts Sauce, and ALYS (Always Love Yourself).

AWBC said the programme reflects the changing nature of digital commerce and the need for entrepreneurs to meet customers on platforms where purchasing decisions are increasingly made. “Veterans bring focus, determination, and a deep sense of purpose to building businesses,” said Corinne Goble, CEO of AWBC. “This accelerator is about meeting them where commerce is actually happening today. TikTok Shop has become a powerful channel for growing brands to reach customers and drive up their sales revenue, and our goal is to make sure veteran entrepreneurs know how to make it work best for their businesses.”

TikTok said the partnership aims to translate creativity and storytelling into commercial growth. “TikTok Shop is designed to help small businesses grow faster by meeting customers where discovery actually happens,” said Patrick Nommensen, Head of Strategic Initiatives, TikTok Shop (Americas & Europe). “Through this partnership with AWBC, we’re empowering veteran entrepreneurs with the tools and training to turn their stories, products, and communities into meaningful commercial success.”

Participants in the accelerator receive practical training covering TikTok Shop setup and optimisation, short-form video strategy, creator partnerships, and paid and organic marketing. The programme also includes guidance on brand positioning, digital marketing fundamentals, online storefront performance, and customer acquisition.

AWBC confirmed that applications are now open for future cohorts. Veteran entrepreneurs can apply through VeteranStartup.org, as the organisation continues to expand access to digital skills and e-commerce opportunities for military-connected business owners nationwide.
