Violeta Luca will be the new CEO of Vodafone in the Czech Republic from January 2024, who has a vast experience of 20 years in leading positions in sales, marketing and strategy planning in recognized companies such as Metro C&C, Dante international, Flanco Retail, Whirlpool Romania or AIG.
Luca will soon take the charge from the current CEO of Vodafone Czech Republic, Petr Dvořák, who was promoted to the role of CEO Partner Markets within the Vodafone Group, and soon will be taking up in September.
Before Vodafone, Luca served in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and Romania. Luca is moving to Vodafone with seven years of service in Microsoft as General Manager of Czech Republic and Slovakia, and prior to that, she was the GM in Romania for two years. With her leadership, she pushed Microsoft to win the Best Employer award various times, both in the Czech Republic and Romania.
Luca has managed transformable change with projects in retail, banking, e-commerce, healthcare and telecoms. Luca has a long track record of being dedicated to developing digital skills and innovation by enabling double digit business growth, transforming business models, driving regional expansion and new market opportunities, alongside supporting start-ups. She mentors and empowers women in professional and managerial careers. She graduated from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, Romania.
Luca on being appointed as Vodafone in the Czech Republic, states, “I am honored to have been appointed CEO of Vodafone in the Czech Republic. I look forward to working with talented teams with whom I want to create value for all Vodafone stakeholders. I am sure that together we can achieve and change a lot, and this requires disciplined implementation of our plans, customer orientation and large-scale innovation,”

In my new role, I have a great opportunity to further contribute to the development of the Czech economy and society as a whole. I want to provide the best customer service and at the same time, together with partners, achieve sustainable growth.”
Luca was included among TOP 100 CEOs and Forbes Top 50 most powerful businesswomen in Romania and acquired the recognition for Business Development, Best Digital transformation project, Innovative Business Model, and Best Corporate Responsibility Campaign. She was also named among the 20 most influential women in Czech Fintech, among many other accolades. She is also a member of the Board of the Digital Transformation Committee of the National Digitization Office of Romania. She served as a board member in the American Chamber of Commerce in Romania, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, where she is currently serving her second term.
