Global supplier Symrise has introduced Dragosine green to expand its natural-origin active ingredient portfolio for skin longevity and prejuvenation cosmetics.
The new ingredient utilises 100% plant-derived L-carnosine produced using biofermentation and advanced green biotechnology. Carrying a natural origin index of 1, the launch supports a broader industry shift from traditional anti-ageing products toward preventative, proactive well-ageing treatments. The dipeptide joins the firm’s Care & Wellness division, building on the established performance of its existing Dragosine line while offering an upgraded natural profile.
Designed to protect skin quality over time, the component operates across three primary functions: exposome protection, structural longevity and visible skin enhancement. The active protects against environmental stressors including heat, blue light, ultraviolet radiation and oxidative stress. It also aids collagen formation, mitigates glycation, promotes epidermal cell proliferation and limits senescence-related decline to maintain skin integrity, elasticity and firmness.
The water-soluble ingredient is engineered for easy inclusion in a variety of cosmetic applications, such as face care, body care, sun protection and dermo-cosmetics. It demonstrates high stability under heat and air exposure while maintaining functional efficacy at concentration levels as low as 0.2%, providing cost-efficient options for cosmetic formulators.
