Nicole Tan has been appointed as Meta’s new country director for Singapore, effective June 2, 2025. With over 25 years of experience in advertising, communications, and technology, Tan previously led Meta’s operations in Malaysia for nine years, where she was credited with accelerating digital adoption and driving business growth. In her new role, she will focus on advancing digital innovation, empowering local businesses and communities, and supporting the growth of Singapore’s digital economy through technology and AI.

Benjamin Joe, vice-president for South-east Asia and emerging markets at Meta, said: “Nicole has a deep understanding of what businesses and communities across South-east Asia need to thrive in a digital world.”

Tan will take over from Damian Kim, who will transition to a new position within Meta’s Asia-Pacific team, the company said.

Tan oversaw Meta’s operations in Malaysia for nine years prior to her appointment, during which time she led efforts to increase cross-sector collaborations and quicken the adoption of digital technology.  In addition, she actively supports women in marketing and technology and has made contributions to talent development and mentorship initiatives across Southeast Asia.

Tan held significant leadership roles in the marketing industry in China and Malaysia before joining Meta.

Tan said: “Singapore is a dynamic market that is spearheading South-east Asia’s digital transformation.”

She said that she is looking forward to working with the team and helping more people and businesses unlock growth through technology.
