The aerospace company Blue Origin, found by Jeff Bezos, is prepared to send six women into space for a little tourist trip. NS-31, the 11th human flight of Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket, will be the first to have an all-female crew. On April 14, 2025, the spacecraft will take off from Launch Site One in West Texas.

During a 10-minute journey, Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguyen, Gayle King, Katy Perry, Kerianne Flynn, and Lauren Sanchez will fly above the Kármán Line, the hypothetical border between Earth and space.

Introducing the trailblazing all-female crew:

Katy Perry:

Katy Perry, a renowned pop star and philanthropist, serves as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and founded the Firework Foundation to empower children through the arts.

Aisha Bowe:

Aisha, ex-NASA rocket scientist, CEO of STEMBoard, and founder of LINGO, promotes STEM education globally, especially in the Bahamas, by sharing her journey.

Amanda Nguyen:

Amanda, a bioastronautics research scientist and advocate for sexual violence survivors, was named TIME’s Woman of the Year. As the first Vietnamese woman in space, her flight will symbolize reconciliation and science as a tool for peace.

Gayle King:

Gayle, an award-winning journalist and co-host of CBS Mornings, is joining a historic space mission, stepping out of her comfort zone and inspiring others to do the same.

Kerianne Flynn:

Lauren Sanchez:

Lauren, an Emmy Award-winning journalist, pilot, and Vice Chair of the Bezos Earth Fund, founded Black Ops Aviation and authored a bestselling children’s book. She aims to inspire future explorers through her aviation and space achievements.

During its last flight, Blue Origin managed to create artificial Moon gravity on New Shepard to test science experiments. The payloads experience two minutes of lunar gravity before returning to land under parachutes.
