Evvy names Dr. Kate McLean as its first Chief Medical Officer

Evvy, an innovative biotech startup focused on transforming women’s health, has made a significant addition to its leadership team with the appointment of Dr. Kate McLean as its inaugural Chief Medical Officer (CMO).

In her new role, Dr. McLean will spearhead efforts to enhance Evvy’s patient services, discover new biomarkers, and forge strategic partnerships to further the company’s mission. Her extensive background in healthcare encompasses a wide array of experiences that uniquely position her to lead these initiatives.

Dr. McLean’s career began at the Lake Tanganyika Floating Health Clinic in Tanzania, where she served as Chief Program Officer, delivering crucial healthcare to women in underprivileged communities. Following this, she honed her clinical skills as an OB/GYN at the University of Washington, where she gained invaluable experience in patient care.

Her journey continued as she took on the role of Chief Medical Officer at Quilted Health, a company dedicated to both virtual and in-person midwifery services. She later became the Senior Director of Clinical Product Strategy at Ro, where she was instrumental in expanding their offerings in women’s health. Additionally, Dr. McLean has contributed to advancing precision medicine initiatives, notably advising on a project backed by the Gates Foundation focused on AI-driven obstetrical tools.

Currently, she holds the position of Legislative Chair for the American College of OBGYNs (ACOG) in Washington state, highlighting her dedication to enhancing women’s healthcare on a broader scale. With Dr. McLean at the helm, Evvy is poised to make significant strides in improving health outcomes for women everywhere.
