Wizz Air, recognized as the leading environmentally sustainable airline worldwide, announced the launch of Apple Pay and Google Pay on its mobile app. This new feature aims to make booking and managing travel even more convenient for passengers. Travelers can now access these payment options on the official Wizz Air app available for both iOS and Android devices.

By incorporating popular digital payment methods, Wizz Air enhances customer experience with more flexible options. Travelers can now enjoy a fast and secure checkout for both ticket purchases and additional services. This move aligns with the airline’s recent acceptance of Revolut cards on board, reflecting its commitment to broadening payment solutions. The introduction of Apple Pay and Google Pay highlights Wizz Air’s focus on adapting to the changing needs of its customers, ensuring a seamless travel planning experience.

The new feature enables customers to make quick and easy payments up to 10 days before departure, which is particularly beneficial for last-minute travelers looking to secure great deals. Research shows that over 30% of travelers like to add services and products later in the booking process, with almost half choosing to do this through the app. With the rollout of these new payment options, adding extras to a booking is now more straightforward than ever.

Remus Moraru, Head of e-Commerce at Wizz Air, said: “We are excited to enhance our payment options with the introduction of Apple Pay and Google Pay. This addition not only simplifies the booking process for our passengers but also underscores our commitment to providing innovative and convenient solutions that meet the needs of modern travelers. It is particularly useful for last-minute customers who appreciate a quick booking process or those willing to add services to their booking just a few days before the flight.”
