Vietjet has reaffirmed its dedication to gender equality and sustainable growth at the 2025 Women in Aviation International–Singapore Chapter (WAI-SG) Gala Dinner, held on 16 October. The high-profile event brought together more than 300 global aviation leaders and experts, including Singapore’s Senior Minister of State for Transport and National Development, Ms. Sun Xueling.

Representing the airline, Ms. Ho Ngoc Yen Phuong, Member of the Board of Directors, Vice President, and Chief Financial Officer, spoke about Vietjet’s ongoing commitment to providing equal opportunities for women across every part of the aviation industry. She highlighted the airline’s inclusive culture that encourages women to take on technical, operational, and financial roles, as well as leadership positions.

“We don’t just talk about gender equality — we live it. At Vietjet, we believe that empowering women is essential to achieving long-term, sustainable growth,” Ms. Phuong said.

Founded by Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Southeast Asia’s first self-made female billionaire, Vietjet has become a symbol of female leadership in aviation. According to the airline’s 2024 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, women make up nearly 40% of the company’s workforce, with 30% of leadership positions held by women, one of the highest figures in the region.

Themed “Pioneering the Sky’s Future,” this year’s WAI-SG Gala recognised initiatives that connect and inspire the next generation of women leaders driving progress and innovation in aviation across the Asia-Pacific region.

Vietjet is a fully-fledged member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and holds the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification. Recognised for its strong safety record, the airline has been awarded seven stars by AirlineRatings.com and consistently ranks among the world’s top 50 airlines for financial health and operations by Airfinance Journal. Vietjet has also earned titles such as “Best Low-Cost Carrier” from leading industry bodies including Skytrax and CAPA.
