Tata Motors has expanded its presence in Qatar with the launch of its all-new LPO 1622 bus, developed for staff transportation and marking the company’s first Euro VI-compliant model in the Middle East.

Unveiled in partnership with official distributor Al Hamad Automobiles, the new bus is designed to offer improved performance, increased comfort, and reduced operational costs for fleet operators in the region.

“The Middle East continues to be a strategic focus for Tata Motors, where our products have consistently delivered value across a range of applications. With Qatar being a key market, we are pleased to further strengthen our presence with the launch of the all-new LPO 1622 bus, designed to offer higher profitability to customers and superior comfort to passengers. Supported by a strong and responsive after-sales ecosystem, we remain committed to delivering reliable, advanced mobility solutions tailored to evolving needs and requirements.” said Mr. Asif Shamim, Head of International Business at Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles.

Powered by a Cummins ISBe 5.6L Euro VI engine, the LPO 1622 produces 220hp and 925Nm of torque. It comes in two seating configurations, catering to diverse transportation demands. Safety and performance features include a full air dual-circuit braking system with ABS, tubeless radial tyres, and a heavy-duty suspension system.

Other advanced additions include Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, Cruise Control, and a Multimode Switch that enables the vehicle to perform efficiently in different driving conditions. Tata Motors says the LPO 1622’s ergonomic seating, robust construction, and low operating costs make it ideal for businesses seeking reliability and long-term value.

“We are proud to continue our long-standing partnership with Tata Motors and support the expansion of their commercial vehicle portfolio in Qatar. As a trusted partner, our focus remains on providing comprehensive after-sales support through our wide service network and easy availability of genuine spare parts. With dedicated teams and infrastructure in place, we are fully committed to ensuring maximum uptime, operational continuity, and long-term value for our customers across the country.” said Mr. Mohamed Yousef Al Mana, Chairman of Al Hamad Automobiles.

In addition to the LPO 1622, Tata Motors also unveiled an upgraded range of its Euro V-compliant Prima heavy trucks. The new Prima series includes the Prima 4040.K, Prima 4440.S, Prima 4040.T, and the Prima 6040.S, vehicles engineered to meet Qatar’s growing construction and infrastructure needs.

Tata Motors currently operates in over 40 countries, offering a range of commercial vehicles from sub-1-tonne cargo units to 60-tonne trucks, and from 9-seater vans to 71-seater buses. Backed by extensive research and development capabilities, its products are rigorously tested to meet the demands of local conditions.
