Arabian Automobiles Company (AAC), the leading automotive brand of AW Rostamani Group and the exclusive distributor of Nissan in Dubai, Sharjah, and the Northern Emirates, has unveiled Urventures, a groundbreaking mobility solutions platform aimed at supporting UAE startups. This innovative program marks a departure from traditional automotive sales, as the company becomes a direct investor in small businesses. Rather than simply selling vehicles, AAC now offers commercial vehicles in exchange for a minor equity stake in the business.
The first phase of Urventures sees AAC providing two promising women-led startups with one of its flagship commercial vehicles, the Nissan Urvan. ProMed First Aid, established in 2024, and Bambuyu, a sustainable tissue company founded in 2021, are the first recipients. This support addresses the critical logistical challenges that many new businesses face by supplying them with the necessary vehicles to help their operations grow.
Each company was selected for the program based on key factors such as growth potential, societal impact, and the necessity of a van for their business. ProMed First Aid, which offers emergency medical training across the GCC, plans to use the Nissan Urvan for mobile training services and equipment transport. Bambuyu, a sustainable tissue brand, will use the vehicle to streamline and expand its delivery operations.
Hussam Baghdadi, Senior Director at AAC, shared his excitement about the program: “This is an exciting time for us as Nissan and Arabian Automobiles are changing the way businesses can buy fleets. While we have always been a strong supporter of the business ecosystem through our expansive mobility solutions, we are now taking that a step further as the first automotive brand offering a unique startup investment approach.
“Through Urventures, we go beyond selling vehicles to become true partners in growth, offering guidance that unlocks new opportunities for entrepreneurs. Our program aligns with the UAE’s vision to be a global hub for entrepreneurship and underscores our dedication to supporting emerging businesses in achieving their full potential.”
For ProMed First Aid, the program has been invaluable. Founder and COO Auredel Sumalinog Magpantay explained: “This program has been instrumental in our rapid growth. The access to vehicles has allowed us to expand our service area and reach new customers. Plus, the mentorship has been invaluable in helping us navigate the challenges of scaling a startup.”
Meanwhile, Bambuyu’s founder and spokesperson, Sahar Karoubi, called the program a “game-changer” for her company: “Access to a fleet allowed us to scale our delivery service rapidly and achieve profitability much sooner than anticipated.”
