Saudi Arabia opens registration to train one Million citizens in AI

This initiative, announced at the 2024 Global AI Summit, aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 to develop national capabilities and position the Kingdom as a global leader in technology and innovation.

Saudi Arabia has officially opened registration for its national initiative, “One Million Saudis in AI” (SAMAI), aiming to train one million citizens in artificial intelligence skills. Launched in collaboration by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the program seeks to equip Saudis of all ages and professional backgrounds with AI knowledge, applications, ethics, and practical tools for business and daily life integration.

 This initiative, announced at the 2024 Global AI Summit, aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 to develop national capabilities and position the Kingdom as a global leader in technology and innovation. Citizens are encouraged to register online to participate in what is the largest AI upskilling program in Saudi Arabia and one of the largest worldwide, supporting the country’s digital economy ambitions

The project is a major strategic step in building Saudi Arabia’s human capital and fulfilling the leadership’s goal of making the Kingdom a global leader in innovation and technology.

Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA)

The Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA) is the competent authority in the Kingdom concerned with data and AI including big data. SDAIA is also the national reference in all matters related to the organization, development, and handling of data and AI; in addition, it has the original competence in all matters related to operation, research, and innovation in the field of data and AI.
