Perelel, a women’s health company that provides hormonal and reproductive support tailored to different life stages, has acquired LOOM, a platform dedicated to educating individuals about reproductive health, sexual wellness, and parenting. This acquisition merges Perelel’s evidence-based methods with LOOM’s community-oriented approach to education.
Founded in 2020 by Victoria Thain Gioia, Alex Taylor, and Dr. Banafsheh Bayati, Perelel focuses on targeted nutrition for women’s hormonal health, especially in prenatal care. LOOM, co-founded by Erica Chidi in 2017, offers health resources for women and non-binary individuals, addressing topics from menstrual health to menopause with personalized support.
Dr. Banafsheh Bayati, Perelel’s Medical Co-Founder, said, “I am excited to welcome LOOM and Erica Chidi, officially, into the Perelel fold. Erica has been a close friend for decades and we have both always trusted the importance and believed in the transformative power of doulas in obstetric care and the birthing experience.”
Alex Taylor, Perelel’s Co-CEO and Co-Founder, stated, “LOOM’s platform offers comprehensive support across a range of essential topics including menstrual health, sexual wellness, pregnancy, and postpartum care – all of which Perelel stands for.”
Erica Chidi, LOOM’s Co-Founder and CEO, will join Perelel as a strategic advisor Chidi said, “Today, I am proud to join Perelel as a strategic advisor and combine our power to amplify our shared mission of supporting women of all stages throughout their hormonal lifespan.”

Recently, Perelel secured $6 million in a Series A funding round, with Unilever as the lead investor. In February, Perelel committed $10 million to the Magee-Womens Research Institute and the Good+ Foundation. Through its 1:1 giveback initiative, the company has donated more than $2.5 million to help underserved communities that lack essential prenatal care.
Victoria Thain Gioia, Perelel’s Co-CEO and Co-Founder, said, “Together, we are expanding and normalizing conversations around reproductive and sexual health, providing evidence-based information, and creating a supportive community for women to explore and understand their bodies and choices.”
