Oriflame boosts India-Sweden relations with focus on sustainability and women’s empowerment

Oriflame, a Swedish well-being brand focusing on holistic health, recently participated in the prestigious Swedish Networking Reception held by the Swedish Embassy. The occasion showcased additional well-known Swedish businesses such as Ikea, Volvo, H&M, and Tetra Pak. Emphasizing sustainability, the event highlighted the significant impact of these brands in enhancing retail ties between India and Sweden.

During the event, Oriflame demonstrated its dedication to sustainability by featuring a stall that is completely biodegradable, reflecting its environment-friendly philosophy. Moreover, it is worth mentioning that 80% of the brand partners at Oriflame are women, and 85% of the products sold in India are locally made, showcasing the brand’s impact on the country’s economy and society. These endeavors showcase the collaboration between Sweden’s leadership in global sustainability and India’s burgeoning entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Edyta Kurek, Senior VP and Head of India at Oriflame said, “We are committed to empowering millions of women by offering them financial independence through our business model. With 60% of our global workforce being women, we are dedicated to gender equality and uplifting communities through our safe, eco-friendly products that meet both Indian and European standards.”

Oriflame is committed to sustainability, with 95% of its rinse-off products introduced in 2023 designed to be biodegradable. This initiative underscores the brand’s dedication to environmental responsibility. By emphasizing clean beauty and supporting micro-entrepreneurship, Oriflame is fostering positive change in both the retail and social landscapes in India, paving the way for a more sustainable future.
