Emma Watson, a prominent actress, has previously invested in a women’s health company called Hertility, which was undisclosed news. Now, Hertility has successfully raised over $14 million in funding.

Launched in 2019, the company has attracted investment from notable backers like Local Globe and the Sequoia Scout Fund. Last summer, it successfully closed a community-led funding round, securing approximately $7.5 million from over 1,000 individual investors, according to Dr. Helen O’Neill Co-founder and CEO of Hertility. Looking ahead, Hertility aims to expand its reach through partnerships with beauty brands like Cult Beauty and by offering educational sessions to organizations such as Channel 4 and Edelman. “The goal is to empower women,” O’Neill stated.

Watson is recognized for her commitment to environmental issues and her support for women-led initiatives. She serves as an ambassador for UN Women and played a key role in launching the HeForShe campaign, which advocates for gender equality. Dr. Helen O’Neill, co-founder, and CEO of Hertility, mentioned that she has met Emma Watson through one of her investors. Recognizing Watson’s passion for women’s rights, O’Neill felt she would be an ideal match as an investor.

Dr. Helen O’Neill said,  “Hertility was founded by women and focuses on women’s health — an area that historically hasn’t received enough attention or funding. By investing in a female-founded company that aims to revolutionize women’s healthcare, Watson contributes to empowering women in both business and health. It’s all about getting as many women as possible talking about their hormones and fertility and meeting them where they’re at to change behavior globally.”
