Cegid, a prominent European provider of cloud management solutions across various sectors, is expanding its global presence with the launch of a new Point of Delivery (PoD) in Dubai, specifically tailored to cater to retailers in the Middle East. The PoD, developed on the robust infrastructure of Microsoft Azure, underscores Cegid’s commitment to serving the buoyant Middle Eastern market and amplifying its impact in the region’s fashion and luxury sector, which is projected to reach impressive revenue figures according to insights from the Boston Consulting Group (BCG).

The strategic investment in the Middle East’s infrastructure signifies Cegid’s confidence in the region’s growth trajectory and its dedication to exceeding customer expectations. By establishing a local presence in Dubai, Cegid aims to provide tailored support to its existing clients, including renowned names such as Clarins, Abu Issa, Ahmed Seddiqi & Son, Al Malki, L’azurde, and Asia Jewellers, while also positioning itself as a preferred partner for new client brands entering the market.

The newly launched PoD will serve as a vital resource for retailers to navigate local laws and regulations concerning data privacy and localization, ensuring compliance and future-proofing against anticipated regulatory changes. Driss Iziki, MEA Director at Cegid, emphasized the strategic significance of the Dubai PoD, stating, “Considering the number of retailers we support in the region and our growing customer base, opening our newest PoD in Dubai was the logical next step.”

With this expansion, Cegid’s global infrastructure now spans five international PoDs, with the Dubai facility complementing existing locations in China, Singapore, the United States, and Ireland. Additionally, over 700 retail customers of Cegid are already hosted in the cloud, benefiting from enhanced performance and efficiency derived from the global network.

This initiative reflects Cegid’s unwavering commitment to empowering retailers in the Middle East with innovative solutions and personalized support, fostering growth and resilience in an ever-evolving business landscape.
