Canon has launched the ‘Women Who Empower’ campaign in collaboration with the Dubai Business Women Council (DBWC), aimed at uplifting and supporting women in the imaging and print industries through a series of initiatives. This campaign aligns with Canon’s commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and women empowerment, focusing on providing women with the necessary resources, training, and support to excel in dynamic sectors.
The program, structured under Canon’s ‘Future of People’ theme and the ‘Inclusion and Diversity’ pillar, offers webinars, mentorship opportunities, and networking events to women in these industries. It aims to provide a platform for women to showcase their work, access essential tools, and excel through investment and training programs.
The initiative encompasses three modules: printing, photography, and content creation, each comprising theory and practical sessions. Led by industry experts, including award-winning Emirati film director Nahla Al Fahad, renowned photographer Jorge Ferrari, and Canon’s B2B Marketing Director Ayman Ali, these sessions provide comprehensive training on various aspects of the imaging and print sectors.
The content creation module, spearheaded by Nahla Al Fahad, focuses on fundamental skills and knowledge required for producing engaging video content. Participants gain expertise in cameras, narrative strategies, and hands-on video production.
Jorge Ferrari leads the photography curriculum, emphasizing the principles of photography, narrative, and practical techniques to refine photographic skills.
Ayman Ali conducts the printing module, offering insights into printing options for applications such as customized interior décor, studio settings, and photography portfolios.
Upon completion of the program, participants showcase their work through portfolios and receive recognition on Canon’s official platforms. Additionally, participants are rewarded with Canon products to further support their endeavors.
The workshops, conducted at Nahla Al Fahad’s Beyond Studios and ArtPlus studios in the UAE, offer an interactive learning experience, fostering growth and advancement in the imaging and print industries.
Canon’s collaboration with DBWC underscores its commitment to promoting gender equality and supporting women in leadership positions. By empowering women through the ‘Women Who Empower’ campaign, Canon continues to champion diversity, inclusivity, and social change in the workplace.
Through transformative initiatives like these, Canon upholds its guiding value of PURPOSE and contributes to creating a more equitable and inclusive environment for all.
