British Gas is all geared up to partner with Barclays to ensure that their customers’ homes are energy efficient. The partnership includes a once-in-a-lifetime offer for Barclays UK residential mortgage customers to get a British Gas Home Health Check, which usually costs £99, for the discounted price of £50.
In a recent study conducted by Barclays, it was found that a staggering 70% of homeowners express a desire for increased energy efficiency in their homes. However, amidst this aspiration, a significant portion—35%—feel overwhelmed by the numerous options and customizations available in the market. Interestingly, the study also highlights a growing demand for personalized recommendations on energy efficiency solutions, with 45% of homeowners believing that tailored advice could greatly benefit them in their pursuit of a more eco-friendly home.
Dan Rosenfield, Managing Director of Centrica New Business & Net Zero, said: “Through our partnership with Barclays, we are pleased to help more homeowners decide what solution works for them to help them lower their carbon emissions and save on their energy bills.”
“There is no one-size-fits-all approach to making improvements on your home, which is why personalized guidance is key. Through our partnership with Barclays, we are pleased to help more homeowners decide what solution works for them to help them lower their carbon emissions and save on their energy bills,” he added.
Nick Stace, Head of Sustainable Finance at Barclays UK, comments: “Aside from the upfront cost, one of the major barriers our customers face when trying to make their home more energy efficient is confusion about which of the various upgrades are right for their property. Through our ongoing partnership with British Gas, we want to help overcome this barrier by providing customers with personalized recommendations for saving money and potentially reducing their energy consumption. We also want to help incentivize those changes, through schemes such as the Barclays Greener Home Reward, which gives a cash reward of up to £2,000 to UK residential mortgage customers who install a qualifying home energy efficiency improvement.”
