Accredited Insurance Holdings has announced the addition of Barbara Bufkin and Patricia Roufca as non-executive directors to its group board. As a global program manager, Accredited emphasized that both women bring extensive experience from the insurance sector, having held numerous senior positions throughout their careers.

Bufkin has had a distinguished career with roles spanning reinsurance, specialty insurance, and wholesale distribution. Her experience includes key positions at notable firms such as Guy Carpenter, Swiss Re, Hamilton Insurance Group, and Argo Limited. She currently serves as an independent director for Duck Creek Technologies, Nuclear Electric Insurance Limited, and Westfield Companies, while also advising Opterrix and chairing the Association of Professional Insurance Women.

Roufca, on the other hand, was recently the UK CEO of Fidelis Underwriting Limited, where she also served as group general counsel and director of strategic execution. During her tenure at Fidelis Insurance Holdings, she played a pivotal role in the company’s successful bifurcation and served as group chief operating officer. Her earlier career included various roles at Aspen Insurance, where she was group head of legal, starting out as a corporate lawyer.

Accredited’s CEO, William Spiegel, commented on the new appointments, noting that Bufkin and Roufca will bring a “fresh perspective and important insights” to the board as the company seeks to balance growth with effective risk management and strong governance. “Alongside our recent senior executive appointments, this is a further demonstration of our focus on ensuring Accredited has the leadership, experience, and strategy to enable it to thrive over the long term,” Spiegel added.
